Tackle high-volume print jobs as well as fulfill all the essential needs of your workgroup with the MFC-L8900CDW All-in-One Color Laser Printer from Brother. Featuring an 8.5 x 14" flatbed scanner as well as a 70-sheet ADF, the MFC-L8900CDW will allow for high-quality scans, copies, and faxes to be made with ease, including duplex capabilities for every mode. For printing, the unit features a 2400 x 600 dpi quality along with outstanding speeds of up to 33 ppm in simplex and the ability to produce 7 double-sided pages per minute. It also supports a wide variety of media from 3 x 5" up to 8.5 x 14" via the 50-sheet multipurpose tray and the 250-sheet standard input tray.
Connectivity is critical to this printer's feature set, with USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi with NFC all present. Networking allows for a variety of direct printing methods, including mobile printing via Apple AirPrint, and Wi-Fi Direct, among others. There is also a front-facing USB port for printing directly to a portable storage device. Additionally, it features a 5" color touchscreen LCD for intuitive operation.

Copy speeds of up to 33 cpm.
Copy features include standalone copying, reduction/enlargement from 25-400%, sorting, duplex, N-in-1 (2-in-1 and 4-in-1), and ID copy.
Monthly duty cycle is rated at 60,000 pages with a recommended monthly volume of 4000 pages.
Scanning can be done at impressive speeds of up to 29 ipm in simplex and 58 ipm in duplex.
Comes with TWAIN, WIA, ICA, ISIS, and SANE drivers.
Optical scan resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi via the flatbed with an interpolated resolution of up to 19200 x 19200 dpi.
Scan to email, image, OCR, file, FTP, USB, network folder (CIFS, Windows only), email server, SharePoint, SSH Server (SFTP), cloud services, and Easy Scan to email.
Other scan features include continuous scan, ADF Auto Deskew, black page skip, ID scan, and up to 25 scan profiles. It also comes with Nuance PaperPort SE with OCR for Windows and Brother ControlCenter2 with OCR for Mac.
Fax transmission speed of about 2.5 seconds per page.
Fax features include PC Fax (send/receive), duplex faxing, distinctive ring ready, out-of-paper reception, an external TAD interface, 300 auto dial locations, 350 broadcasting locations, Quick Scan, fax/telephone switch, a memory for 500 pages, auto fax receive date/time header, and document memory backup.
Standard network features include printing, scanning, PC Fax send/receive, I-Fax, and an LDAP corporate address book.
Supports Apple AirPrint, Brother iPrint&Scan, Mopria, Cortado Workplace, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC for mobile printing. Also, has web connect options for Evernote, OneDrive, OneNote, Dropbox, Google Apps for Business, Box, Facebook, and Flickr. Various Brother cloud apps are also available, including Office Print, Easy Scan to E-mail, Office Doc Creator, and CreativeCenter.

A Very Fine Piece of Modern Equipment

Just bought this for the home, which appears to be totally overboard but for me it was essential. I specifically went with this model because of its legal size (8.5 x 14.0 in) scanner window. With it I don't have to un-staple documents (of legal size) to run them in the ADF like I used to do with other printer models that don't offer a legal size scanning window. My first flatbed Scanner in 1992 was an Epson which had a scanning window of Ledger size but it was to slow and noisy which I returned after one week to order an HP IIc with a Legal sized window. In those days there weren't all-in-ones like this marvelous MFC-L8900CDW. The two-sided one-pass ADF scanning is an immense time saver and because it is one-pass it is very precise besides being super quick. I printed documents with fine print and this "printer" is very satisfactory, I also printed some photos on plain so-so paper and again the results are very satisfactory. This printer is quieter than my old MFC-L2700DW. I would wish that the paper drawer would hold 500 sheets instead of 250. I would never buy an extra paper caddy for my home environment. The 5inch diagonal colour touch display is fantastic to have and "NORMAL" in 2022. After having "suffered" the 2 line monochrome LCD screen on my previous MFC-L2700DW. Reconfiguring the setup or verifying statuses is done so promptly with this new colour touchscreen display. All in all I am enchanted Hahaha with this purchase, I am happy with this ownership of a very fine piece of modern equipment that is the MFC-L8900CDW

The 8900 is an excellent machine with better quality than most of the printers, copiers, all-in-ones available on the consumer market today. Pros: 1- I love that it came with 4 full toner cartrdiges, not starters that quickly need replacing. 2- It was easy to set up and start using. 3- Both the black & white and color pages it prints & copies are excellent. Cons: 1- The only downside is that it can be slow to start printing, but once started, it takes off. I can live it and compared to its consumer market competition, it deserves 5 stars. If you need more machine than the 8900, you should go with a commercial machine from an office equipment sales-leasing company.

This is my second Brother and I am very satisfied with it. My only complaint is that it prints out slow. Every week I have to print out over a 100 pages for meetings and I'm always waiting for it to finish printing. My previous Brother which was not an all in one and basic, was fast. I've tried to see if there was a way to increase the speed but I am not a techy person. Would I buy this machine again? Yes
